Position Overview:

The Founder-In-Residence (FIR) will work with HFP Ventures team and our internal/external partners to launch and scale new companies. We are looking for a visionary entrepreneur with first-hand knowledge of the pain points A&D and National Security industries face. He/she will play a leading role to research, ideate, validate, and prototype products for new venture creation. HFP Ventures will support FIRs, leveraging corporate infrastructure and internal/external partners throughout the process. Upon successfully completing the program, a new venture will be spun out as an independent entity where the FIR is anticipated to take on a primary role as a co-founder.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Have creativity and drive to develop ideas to be incubated into a high-potential business
  • Work with HFP Ventures team to iteratively research and define critical defense and national security problems to solve that can benefit from employing deep technologies.
  • Conceptualize, create, and build a minimal viable product
  • Validate hypotheses by performing feasibility and product market fit tests
  • Set the vision and the strategy of a new venture once the idea has been tested and determined to be a product market fit
  • Bring in the best talent, build the product, and develop the initial GTM

Required Qualifications:

  • Keep knowledge of A&D industry, including key technological trends and National Security challenges
  • Knowledge and interest in disruptive technologies shaping the future of A&D and National Security industries
  • Proven track record as an entrepreneur in the technology industry, with experience in successfully launching and scaling new ventures
  • Demonstrated team building and management experience
  • Product leadership & marketing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in successfully applying for U.S. government contracts and grants.
  • Experience in pitching to institutional investors and raising capital for early-stage ventures.
